Friends of Willoughby State Forest are pleased to announce our newest upcoming event! We will be hosting a beach clean up, and trail clean up day on Saturday, July, 8th, 2017.
We will be providing burgers, dogs, and beverages for the public and hope to see all of you there! We will also be providing trash bags, and gloves for everybody to help up clean up the forest!
There will be informative brochures about our non-profit, and how to become a member!
After the beach cleanup and BBQ ( 10AM- 12PM), all who wish to join are very welcome to do so, we will be touring the CCC Camp from 1PM- 3PM. We will also have information pertaining to the CCC Camps! We truly hope you can come and enjoy the festivities, meet us and learn about our cause for the forest and of course, take in the scenery!

Introduction
Getting Started
We have people who have never heard of us, or ask how and when did this all start. It all started on 11/6/2015. There was a public meeting held in Westmore, VT. In this meeting, all who attended were asked to be open, suggest areas of concern, and give opinions on Willoughby state forest. In that session, areas of concern that were brought up were as follows; Parking, Restrooms, Boat Access, Safe Access, Environment, Monitor/Patrol. Many thoughtful, and helpful ideas were brought up! (Thank you!) It was apparent after this session that there are an over whelming amount of people who love, and care for this forest. It was decided to have another meeting, that was also made public, to narrow down areas of utmost concern and ask people to volunteer to form a non profit group, to work together with Vt state organizations. This group of individuals are to serve as a sounding board for public concerns regarding management of this Forest.
UPDATE:
We are very pleased and happy to announce that as of 02/2017 we are now officially a non- profit organization!
